Back to School!

Well, the time is upon us! It is time to get back in our routines and gear up for another great year at PIKE!
I am very excited for the 2013-2014 school year and I feel like it will be the best one yet! Parents, be aware of the new technology policies and our new online Achieve portal located on the Pike Liberal Arts homepage. Stay tuned to my blog for updates, announcements and (everyone's favorite..) pictures! You never know what we might have our hands in....:) GO PIKE!

Speech (9th grade)
This week we are in Chapter 2 learning how to build confidence as we prepare for our first speech. Testing for this class is scheduled for Fridays (according to school policy) and we will have our test on Chapter 2 next Friday. 

Advanced Art (11th grade)
This week we have been doing a study on value and how we can use value to enhance our drawings and make them look more realistic. We are almost finished with our self portraits and I will be posting them soon!

Journalism (10th grade)
This week we are out and about looking for students/teachers/coaches to interview for our journalism blog. We will be posting stories you want to hear weekly. Keep up with us at plaspatriotpost.blogspot.com!


Drama (12th grade)
This year's drama class will be presenting a Dinner Theatre in late February/early March entitled Cafe' Murder.This will be a great opportunity for you and your family to come support our drama department and play along as we solve this light-hearted murder mystery. Stay tuned for show announcements!

Character Development activity 


Art 1 & 11 (7th and 9th grade)
We are in the middle of an intense study of the color wheel and relationships of colors. We have learned about primary, secondary, tertiary, analogous, and complimentary colors. (Who knew there were so many different kinds of colors? :)  Each class has a Color Wheel Quiz this Friday!
